list 5 general difference is the skull between modern humans and early homo species( habilis and erectus)
Homo habilis skull features-
Skull are large in comparison of modern humans skull
Thin walls and rounded
They do not have heavy crests and projecting browridges which becomes characteristics of later H. erectus.
The underside of cranium is shortened from the back of palate to the rear of skull as in all homo spacies.
They have larger cranial capacity i.e 680cc
Features of homo erectus-
Forehead of homo erectus is sloping ,low and flat
Supraorbital torus (brow ridge ) is prominent extending as a bar
Occipital torus is present
Features of homo sapiens skull-
Forehead is vertical indicating frontal lobe
Supraorbital torus is slight or absent
Occipital torus is slight or absent
Large brain volume
Relatively high and thin skull

Until recently, there were two competing theories about the
origin of our species- "modern Homo sapiens". The first (single
African origin) is that all modern humans descended from a recent
ancestor in Africa, less than 200,000 years ago, and that our
ancestors replaced the archaic human species they found in their
migrations, including Neanderthals and Denisovans. (In the last few
years evidence from nuclear genomes of fossil humans has indicated
that there was limited interbreeding between the ancestors of
modern...

QUESTION 2 Which of the following is TRUE regarding the possible interbreeding between the human and Neanderthal species? a. A limited amount of variation has been passed from Homo neanderthalensis to Eurasian populations of Homo sapiens as a result of interbreeding that probably took place in the Near East at some point within the past 100,000 years. b. There is no evidence of hybridization between Neanderthals and modern humans. Both bone mtDNA and genomics studies ruled out such interbreeding. C....
