it can actually be mentioned that pollution can be considered as a negative externality where is the cost of pollution is borne by the third party or the society. The government should regulate the Monopoly because of the fact that the cost to the external society should be reduced and the output should be produced in such a way that the social benefit is equal to the marginal cost and per unit tax can be imposed on it so that the supply curve shifts to the left on the whole
