How do you know if you should choose genome or exome sequences? In other words, what is the advantage of studying an exome instead of a genome?

Exome is the part of the genome containing exons. The Exom constitutes only 1.5% of whole genome.
Exome contains genes which code for all the proteins in a given cell. This part of genome is most
prone to mutations and other changes. Sequencing the exome would be useful in identifying the mutations
which are lethal rather than sequencing whole genome which is useless.Whole exome sequencing gives a
sharp idea about mutations as well as in clinical prurposes in diagnosing a disease with high percentage.
