Blind spot bias is a consequence of naive realism, which leads individuals to recognize cognitive and motivational biases in others, while underestimating the impact of bias on the self. Majority of individuals tend to believe that they are less likely to be biased and rate themselves as falling above average on most traits. Given this data, naive realism can certainly lead us to evaluate information in a biased fashion.
