Answer #1

First of all the whole story mainly takes a smooth start with two people in a train talking about hills and white elephants which itself is the symbol adding meaning to the whole story.

So, in the story the main symbols are the train, the hills and the their resemblance to the white elephants. Man and woman talks about the elephants. The woman remarks the hills as the white elephants. They chit chat the whole time drinking beer about the hills. The story starts with the woman saying that the hills resembles to the elephants. Their is one more symbol tat has been used in the story. It is the operation that the man starts to talk about. He wants a girl named Jig to have it done. And they kinda discuss about it the whole time until they take their bags and walk away.
