With the emerging technologies, memories are also getting evolved. Currently, there are powerful RAM and ROM are available in the market and those are being preferred widely. Previously we used DDR2 RAM, but now DDR4 RAMs are available in the market. These RAMs are capable in increasing the performance of the system.

Depend upon the application running on your system, you will have to select the Specification of the RAM. The more the heavy the application is the powerful should be the RAM.

Still now, with the emerging technologies, few businesses are still using the old school systems and even physical servers in their premises. This is mostly done by the banking system who don't want any risk with the application. Still there will be businesses who are using mainframe technology as well. Even you can able to see businesses using servers with low version of OSs.
