Give an example of a foreign business practice in any African country that might be considered weird by an American doing business there.
Doing business in Africa by an American ,would certainly be little tricky. This is because of huge cultural differences among two places and a huge disparity in the development settings of the two places. Some examples can be :
1) GREETING - The greeting is very important in African culture and one should be cautious about the way they greet their business counterparts.Africans also bow their head for someone who is superior than them, all that as a sign of respect.
2) Dining Ethics- The Africans don't welcome doing business talks when on the dining table. For Americans ,it is just ordinary to talk business while at lunch or dinner but Africans avoid it.
Thus,it is generally suggestible for Americans to know about the culture of Africa ,in order to successfully collaborate .
Please give your feedback.
