Ask THREE working adults who are AT LEAST 40 years old to describe a time where they either personally experienced or observed a hostile work environment or illegal discrimination in the work place.

For each person you talked with, write a paragraph that provides their name, how you know them, and then summarizes what they told you.

After writing these three paragraphs, in a fourth paragraph describe what you learned from hearing these adults' stories that could be useful to you in your adult employment life.

Harsha: He works as an Deputy Manager in Bank and through internal transfer he went to Credit department. He is from India. His Boss has a particular liking for people who know marathi as he is a Marathi guy. He keeps all Marathi people around him and make fun of other state people who work in that department. One day there was an announcement for best employee and everyone thought that Harsha will be given best employee award to surprise that award went to another fellow who knows Marathi and sits in his boss circle.

John Mcclane : He works as a Professor in a university. He always stood by what is good for students and always used to maintain good rapport with students. So rather than other lecturer class more students used to attend his classes. Another problem is that he always used to talk against his department head if they want to do anything which effects students. When he was due for promotion to become head of one particular department he didn't get promoted as his Head of the department didn't like his ways as he is being more likely to students rather than listening to him.

Prathyusha : She is a Relationship Manager in Bank when one large corporate customer account was given as a lead her Branch head didn't give even though she is good at her work saying that RM work is not for Women it is only for Men. Everytime he used to like that saying the same thing saying you are a girl you can't do that.

In each of these cases we can see that individual are discriminated by region, sex or their behaviour and one common point is that they were not in the good books of their bosses.
