1- Why is the Mediterranean diet considered healthy?

Mediterranean diet considered healthy because this diet involves protein and fiber rich food like -fish, nuts, plant oils. This diet also involve vitamic rich fruits and vegetables which help in reducing the risk of metabolic syndrome and diabetes. The food in Mediterranean diet helps in lowering inflammation in your body and improving blood vessel function.

2- A Creole feeds one family with three chickens and a Cajun feeds three families with one chicken. Another major difference between Creole and Cajun food is in the type of roux used as the base for the classic sauces, stews, soups, and many other savory dishes. A typical Creole roux is made from butter and flour (as in France), while a Cajun roux is usually made with lard or oil and flour.

The cultural difference between the two methods of cooking lies in the fact that Creoles had access to local markets, and servants to cook their food while Cajuns lived mostly off the land, were subject to the elements of the seasons, and generally cooked meals in one large pot.

Cajun and Creole label have been mistaken to be the same, but the origins of Creole cooking began in New Orleans, and Cajun cooking came 40 years after the establishment of New Orleans.

The word “Cajun” originates from the term “les Acadians,” which was used to describe French colonists who settled in the Acadia region of Canada which consisted of present-day New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.

The term “Creole” describes the population of people who were born to settlers in French colonial Louisiana, specifically in New Orleans.

4-Summarize the immigration patterns of northern and southern Europeans

Immigrants from Europe arrived to the United States in the 1600s and have greatly influenced our culture ever since. NORTHERN EUROPEANS were from England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, and Northern France. People from great Britain settled in US in 1607 and by the time the United States gained independence from Britain, British made up ½ of the American population.French immigrated later and in smaller numbers. By 1775 there were estimated 250,000 Scotch Irish living in the American colonies. Originally colonized Pennsylvania but spread to Virginia, Georgia, Maryland Irish Catholics migrated and were at bottom of socioeconomic ladder
