You have learned about the importance of personal thinking habits and self-talk. In which situations of your life do you struggle with your inner monologue? What do you think prolongs your ineffective thinking habits? What is one change you are willing to make to begin to break the cycle
Every individual possesses certain habits which are personal to them. We may be in a public space, but everyone indulges in self-talk. Our personal habits make us unique and our self talk helps us in maintaining our identity.
The situations I struggle the most with my monologue is when my mind is trying to rationalize and my heart is only wanting to satisfy my needs to give me happiness. This occurs usually in cases involving friends. At times I know I am not taking a right decision, but since I am very attached to my friends, the decisions cannot always be "right" , so I usually go with what my heart wants, even if it may have negative consequences for me in the future.
The change I am willing to make is weighing of the pros and cons. I cannot stop following my heart, but I can at least try to understand the consequences I may have to face before hand.
