The features of an ideal desktop operating systems must be as follows:

  1. First of all, let's talk about the availability of the operating system when talking about the ideal OS they must have subroutines for each and everything so that the processes will not crash due to the user's action or any other reason.
  2. The operating system should be very efficient and must work faster than any normal operating system and must also be robust to recover from an error without even terminating the process.
  3. It must also be very user-friendly so that the users don't find it very hard to make use of and must also be too functional so that layman can also make use of it easily and effectively.
  4. The UI and UX must also be very excellent in terms of GUI. It should also synchronize with multiple devices so that the use of the operating systems become easy and useful.

Hence, these are the things which we must expect from an ideal Operating system.
