Reya is a receptionist at a private eye hospital. Her daily tasks include:
Greeting, checking in, and checking-out patients
Answer incoming calls
Schedule and confirm patient appointments
Check patient's insurance and calculate deductibles and co-payments due before the appointment
Collect payments and enter information into the office computer system
When the first patient for the day arrived, Reya realized that she had forgotten to verify insurance for the patients scheduled for the day. She is supposed to collect payment before the patient sees the eye specialist, but if she has the patient wait while she verifies coverage and payment due, she will put the eye specialist behind schedule. What is the best option for Reya at this moment?

Select one:

a. Take a chance and have the first patient pay at check-out. She can verify coverage and payment while the patient is with the dentist. Then, she can start verifying the other patients.

b. Tell her supervisor that she was not able to get in touch with anyone at the insurance company because they have horrible customer service. Explain that she collected the amount that the patient paid on their last visit. Then, without anyone knowing, work diligently to make sure that all the other patients are verified before their appointments.

c. Admit to her supervisor that she forgot to complete the task, apologize, then suggest that she will verify coverage and payment while the patient is with the dentist and collect the payment at check-out. Promise that she will work diligently to get all the other patients verified before their appointments.

d. Tell her supervisor that she was not able to get in touch with anyone at the insurance company because they have horrible customer service. Ask her supervisor how she should proceed. Then, without anyone knowing, work diligently to make sure that all the other patients are verified before their appointments.

Shelly owns four food trucks. The trucks are out of service today, and her tasks are:
design a new menu
wash the trucks
inventory the food, she knows she is not completely out of any items
research a new food truck park
go shopping for some new cooking tongs, the ones she has are functional, but she has a coupon, and it expires in six days
Help Shelly prioritize her tasks by selecting the best option below.

Select one:

a. shop, research new park, design menu, inventory, wash trucks

b. research new park, inventory, shop, wash trucks, design menu

c. design menu, inventory, research park, wash trucks, shop

d. wash trucks, inventory food, research park, design menu, shop

Answer #1

Case 1 -

C) Admit to her supervisor that she forgot to complete the task, apologize, then suggest that she will verify coverage and payment while the patient is with the dentist and collect the payment at check-out. Promise that she will work diligently to get all the other patients verified before their appointments.

As Reya forgot to verify the insurance, so she can sincerely apologize to her supervisor as it would not complicate the situation. Although she has made some mistake but if she offer to correct the mistake with confidence, then it would actually impress her supervisor as not every employee take responsibility for their own mistakes.

Case 2 -

D) Wash trucks, inventory food, research park, design menu, shop.

Shelly should prioritize her schedule in this sequence for today. Her top preference should be washing her food trucks as the trucks are out of service today and it is the perfect time to wash them. Next, she should make sure inventory is full of foods. Her least preferred task should be going for shopping as her coupon would be expired in six days and so she has time for now.

Hope this helps :)
