Problems of workplace violence:

• If there is violence or difference of opinion in the organization, there would be lack of cooperation & disrespect among one another which can impact both individual & organizational performances.
• As a result of workplace violence, people in the organization would show it to the outside people like customers also which can affect the name & fame of the organization.
• There would be absence of stability in the organization because people may refuse to obey the policies & principles of the organization.
• People may sabotage the property, steal the equipments, and seek revenge against one another which would result in organization facing heavy losses.
• There can also be other consequences like physical fights, raging, using weapons to harm one another which can disturb the peaceful environment in the organization.

Measures to prevent workplace violence:

• Creating a workplace violence policy development: effective policy can reduce the threat of violence & ensure that the incident is dealt accordingly.
• Assessment of threat: considering the spectrum of threats & the likelihood of threats being carried out.
• Security measures: maintaining an environment that would maximize physical security & minimizes the negativity.
• Incident management team: creating a separate team for this purpose to prevent, diffuse & mitigate incidents of violence.
• Whistleblower programs: all employees are aware that workplace violence is intolerable & that appropriate action would be taken in case of occurrence.
• Training: training the employees to deal with stress reduction & conflict resolution.
