Transportation can be defined as the modes of commuting goods and people from one place to another. Transportation infrastructure means the installation needed to build these roads, railways, airways, waterways etc.

The following are the different types of transportation infrastructure:

1. Roads: A road is designed to ease the movement of vehicles like automobiles, trucks, buses etc. The road design has to be robust, avoid destruction of travel and a good traffic monitoring system has to be maintaining to use it successfully.
2. Railways: Rail infrastructure includes connecting locations through railway lines. These railway lines have to be effectively designed in order to avoid accidents and to improve the ease of commuting.
3. Airways: Airway transportation include aircrafts like helicopters, airplane etc wherein a place is needed to take off and land. Hence the run way for the plan has to be designed effectively in order to utilize the best.
