There is a ring being pulled by four ropes which a tied to one point at the center, and this ring is not moving at all. One rope is being pulled at a 37 degree angle with a force of 10 N. Another is being pulled at a 287 degree angle with a force of 15 N. Finally, a different rope is being pulled at a 343 degree angle with a force of 12 N. a) What must the force of the fourth be (magnitude and direction according to the positive x-axis)? b) Draw a tail-to-head diagram for the four force vectors to verify. I got A but need help with b.

A heavy sled is being pulled by two people as shown in the figure. The coefficient of static friction between the sled and the ground is mu_s = 0.611, and the kinetic friction coefficient is mu_k = 0.435. The combined mass of the sled and its load is m = 276 kg. Lab 4: Introduction & Instructions Centripetal Acceleration Introduction Velocity is a vector with both a magnitude and a direction. Since acceleration is a measure of a change in velocity over time, it seems reasonable that either the magnitude of the velocity vector could be changing, or the direction, or both. If magnitude is changing only, then the motion occurs in one dimension and the principles of algebra can be applied to the equations of motion. But suppose the opposite case...

You may assume that the weight of the car is evenly distributed on all four tires and that the coefficient of static friction is involved - that is, the tires are not allowed to slip during the deceleration.
