As part of the organization control system, management reviews the various metrices with regards to organization performance and this includes financial metrics such as Net margins, working capital deployed which includes account receivable nand payables. If there is an in ordinate increase in account payable, then it means the company is not able to pay its suppliers in time and there is a liquidity crunch. This can act as a leading indicator for management to correct its course regarding the strategic direction of the company. Additionally, too less an account payable might mean that credit periods offered by veendors are not used effectively and hence needs a correction
