Answer-

1. Lymphatic system is important of immune system and circulatory system. In human body approximately 600 lymph nodes are present that are linked by lymphatic vessels.

2. Lymph node carries lymphocytes that works to fight against infection but in cancer lymph nodes may carry malignant cells from the origin of cancer to other body parts.

3. The nearest lymph node to the site of cancer tumor is known as draining lymph node where malignant cells travel from tumor and firstly reside at nearest lymph node.

4. During surgical removal of tumor not only tumor is removed but also nearest draining lymph nodes are also removed to ensure complete removal of malignant cells from body. Because if draining lymph nodes not removed then even though tumor is removed but recurrence of cancer is possible as malignant cells resides in draining lymph nodes.
