GIVEN : EXTERIOR WALL MEASURING 28` Long and 48` Wide

To add 5% of total linear feet of plates which is = 0.05%

STEPS :

  1. To calculate total area of the wall which is LENGHT (20) X WIDTH (48) = AREA (1344) ,
  2. Then DIVIDE the AREA / 3 which gives us : 448
  3. Then add 5% - 10% for waste which is 448 + 31.003 = 479 Feet

SUMMARY

Liner Feet of plates that are need for the exteriors walls of a house having 28 x 48 dimension is 479 feet .
