These two videos of a man describing how he can’t read or write and how he wished he could because society makes him feel unintelligent made me think of how many people who have a learning disability like him must feel because they don’t fit the standards. During my time observing and helping in a grade nine classroom, I was able to watch how students learn with different learning disabilities and other factors that are said to impede learning. Some had dyslexia, ADHD, hearing impairments, etc., I remember being challenged when I would have to teach something in 3 different ways until it would click. But each of these students were labelled, and their label dictated their potential. This is something I want to work towards eliminating in the classroom; students should be able to have every opportunity to learn and obtain a valuable education. The time I spent in the classroom taught me that every student will learn differently and we need to have the patience and resources to be able to adapt to different learning styles and abilities. I loved how during the interview, it was important for the man to realise that maybe he wasn’t disabled, but rather he just has a different way of learning, and that doesn’t make him any less valuable as a human being or learner.

What can we do to ensure that students that have been told they have a learning disability, achieve their potential as learners?

Answer)

Those who have learning disability due to physical or mental disabilities need to be given special attention as they are not the same as others. However, when it comes to others who is normal but still have learning disability, then it is job of the teachers to make them understand better. This is through explaining something which make not only them but also every one enjoy what the teacher is teaching at the same time they should learn or remember what the teacher has teached. The teacher must make them know the practical applicability of such matter as some students may be weak theoretically but they understand better by teaching something practically and then they could explain them in theory. Here, a good teacher should always improve from just explaination of lesson to explaining a lesson with all practical applicability of it in such a manner that every student is able to understand it.

1-In his article, "Blurring the Lines between Language and Culture", Fatiha Guessabi, a professor of Languages and Translation in the Literature and Humanities faculty at the Université de Béchar in Algeria, argues that culture is a language in itself. I agree strongly with what Guessabi mentioned in the article because languages are the ways by which we can express our culture and learn other cultures, so learning a language means learning the culture and learning the culture can be done by learning the language. Good introductory paragraph with both sentences....
