Answer #1

sign convention:

        Right : Positive

         Left : Negative

speed of the bullet, VB = 0.6c

speed of the magical car, VC = -0.8c

a) sol.

velocity of car relative to the bullet,VCB = VC - VB

                                                                VCB = -0.8c - 0.6c

                                                         VCB = -1.4c

        speed of the car w.r.t bullet is 1.4c towards left.

b) sol.

Now from inside the car, when we observe the bullet:

the speed of the bullet that we will observe that, VBC = VB - VC

                                                                            VBC = 0.6c - (-0.8c)

                                                                            VBC = 1.4c     (towards right)
