Answer #1

The US officially announced in 1973 that it will no more consider gold as an standard. It all started in 1971, when they stopped selling gold and eventually in 1973, US announced it officially.

6. Trilemma - It is the choosing option among the best alternatives. In this situation, there are some situations and we have to choose the one based on our result and the prudence.

Here tri means that there will be three situations. So, trilemma essentially means choosing the best alternative from the three situations. The three situations can be favorable or unfavorable and among those we have to select the best one.

Trilemma drives its concept from dilemma. In dilemma, there are only two situations and we have to select only one at a time.

Hence, trilemma is a concept where we have to select the best alternative among the three and only one can be selected at a time.
