The article overviews with the uncertainties of the systems of manufacturing processes. The article deals with the production planning of an organisation under uncertainty conditions. The models which accounts for uncertainty will supposed to be more clear and more able to overcome obstacles and more able to generate better planning decisions.

The production management researchers have to oversees the overall processes involved in manufacturing process, so the uncertainties should also have to be determined in order to face it and make better plan to overcome it.

There is a definition of uncertainty in the article that uncertainty is basically the difference between the amount of information required to perform a task and the amount of information already possessed by the process.

There were two types of uncertainty involves in the process -

Environmental uncertainty - uncertainties beyond the production process like demand uncertainty, supply uncertainty etc.

System uncertainty - uncertainties related to the production process like quality uncertainty etc.

There were different approaches described in the article to deal and cope up with the uncertainties related to the manufacturing process and try to gain better understanding about the management of the uncertainties in an effective and efficient way.
