In view of the fact that so many marriages end in divorce, why do you think that so many people continue to get married?

Answer- Marriage is an institution and union of two people, who come together to seek companionship, love, security, and a sense of comfort. It is true that in today's day and age, most of the marriages end up in divorce, and the reasons for the divorce may vary from couple to couple. However, that does not stop them or others from getting married. The following are some of the reasons why people continue to get married-

a) Companionship- One of the biggest reasons as to why people get married, is to seek companionship. As humans, we all seek a sense of belonging, and that is established by seeking someone to spend the rest of our lives with. When things get tough in life, one often needs a partner to support and encourage them, and that is why people seek marriage.

b) Financial reasons- With the rising cost of commodities and even a higher amount of expenditures, people usually find it easier to split their expenses with a partner. Financial security is established in marriage by splitting bills together or helping the other out financially when they are in a crisis.

c) Legal reasons- Some people get married to acquire legal benefits, such as parental rights. It is also easier for a couple to get an apartment.

d) Love- Love is the most common reasons as to why people get married. The idea of uniting with someone you love is an actual concept people seek.

e) Taking the generation- Some people get married to reproduce offsprings who will carry the family name forward, and hopefully support them when they are older.
