Answer #1

Constantine I the Roman emperor who ruled from 306 AD-337AD. He was the first ruler who adopted Christianity as the official faith. He joined christianity in later part of his life. He presided the first council Nicaea in 325 AD which consolidated the Nicene creed(statement of christian faith). He is called the first Christian Emperor and did many things to promote Christianity.

It was Constantine’s adoption of Christianity that stopped the persecution of Christians and changed Christianity to today’s world-wide religion. Constantins adoption of christianity helped the growth of catholic church and emergence of the Pope as centralised power in Europe.

Christianity became the major religion in America as the religion of the settlers. In 2015 about 75% of Americans identify themselves as Christians and it remains as the main factor which influences American culture and ideas.
