Work-life balance:

Workload:

The most of the employees unable to manage work pressure because sometimes they are assigned with too much work that they cannot handle with and unrealistic targets are imposed upon them which often leads to miss the targets, low performance, impacts physical and mental health and in many cases employees go to an extent where they quit their jobs.

Dealing with colleagues:

Employees come from different background, culture, religion, sometimes this causes differences among coworkers and they feel discomfort around them who do not have share a similar views.

Politics at workplace:

Employees often make groups of their like minded people and try to hangout with them at workplace. They also use it to favor an employee to get some work done through them or use it against some employee to let them down .

Equal pay and negotiation of salary:

All employees do not get equal pay for the same job. There are many factors which employers considers before finalize the salary offer like age, education, work experience, etc . The employer always tries to negotiate salary with employees, however, not all employees in a strong position to negotiate salary with their employer, hence, they compromise the salary.

Dealing with managers:

The middle management plays a key role in the management of any company, they directly deal with the employees, implement new changes and policies. If you are not strong and efficient, the whole team performance gets affected. They should act as a mentor and guide and resolve issues of employees who work under them, encourage and motivate them to perform well.

Issues and challenges face by the employers:

Employers have concerns over an employee’s performance or conduct.

It depends on how long the employees have been working with the current employer. If they have been working long enough to get the statutory protection against unfair dismissal then employer needs to follow a fair procedure and identify a fair reason before making any decisions about issuing a warning or termination. If the employee does not have the protection against unfair termination then employer always needs to follow certain procedures. However, it is always advised to follow best practice in any situation.

Employees cause damage to the business.

It is unfair for any employee to leave a company on poor terms or with the intention of starting up a same business to create competition or damage them. Employees can cause problems for companies by using their intellectual property, confidential information or trade secrets, stealing customers and employees or by simply bad-mouthing the employer in the marketplace.

Hiring and Firing:

Hiring is a costly activity, it is a lengthy procedure and consumes a lot of time. Retaining existing employees is always a best option than firing because it saves time, energy and cost.

Restrictive covenants:

Restrictions on what an employee can or can’t do after he leaves your company are used effectively by many employers from whether it's restricting employees from poaching same customers, joining your competitor or convincing their former colleagues to quit. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the restrictions must be there.
