Summarize what an organization needs from a leader.

Here is what an organisation needs from the leader:

  • A lot of personality traits like physical outlook, intelligence, social adaptability traits, willpower, self-confidence play an important role to define the personality of a leader and its future.
  • It is important for a leader to have a high level of emotional stability as a personality trait to deliver success. Consistency in actions and behaviors demonstrate composure in a leader and helps to deliver results for the team. A situation where an individual is able to demonstrate such emotional stability skills helps to differentiate from others.
  • Bringing change in the organisation - While the organisation stakeholders and employee needs to embrace change & support the change management process it is important for having leadership and the right manager in the entire process.  
  • The leader needs to take ownership of the process and be a guide in the process to ensure objectives are met. Strong and passionate leaders help a lot during the process. The ownership of achieving goals of change management must be shared by senior executives of the organisation.
  • Defining clear accountability - After having plans, vision, and understanding of the entire process it is important to track the progression at regular intervals. Lack of accountability makes the entire process aimless leading to return to the old habits.  
  • The role of forecasting and looking into future: A leader should have the ability to forecast and look into the future, visualise external trends & make thoughtful decisions which are ethical and good for the organisation. The ones who are not able to communicate aspirational goals fail to become effective leaders.

Here are things that can happen if leadership doesn't meet the need of the organisation:

  • If leadership doesn't meet the need of the organisation the physical clutter management, discipline, and workplace culture will become disorganised and unproductive: A systematic workplace having appropriate processes for internal communication and governed by rules helps to create a pattern of quality services.
  • The mental state of employees and the environment also get affected: The team members don't have a clear focus or clear priorities.
  • The person/leader who is not open to new ideas and follows strict procedures will not be effective in leading organisations.
  • Lack of accountability and lapse of communication in the organisation.
  • Lack of purpose, passion, and synergy between the teams leading to decliner in productivity.

If leadership doesn't meet the need of the organisation then the overall orgamnisation has a poor manager and leadership pipeline making th efuture of the orgamisation less stable and sustainable.
