Scientific method is testing a hypothesis by doing set of experiment.
When you observe something, you make a hypothesis about it, followed by prediction.
You do an experiment for testing that prediction and then conclude your results.
For example you see a torch is not working, you predict that may be batteries of torch are low, in order to test your prediction you will change the battery the and see if the torch is working or not. If it will then your prediction was correct , if it's not then you make another prediction and process will go on.
