Hello class,

I found this article to be very interesting and relevant to the concepts we are learning right now in class. I had a hard time at first understanding Castle's 3D arrangement model. He developed a 3D model based on the fact that he sometimes observed the distance between A and C being less than AB+BC, indicating that there was another path between A and C besides a linear path through B. This seemed to make sense to me until I read on and realized that his data was not gathered from a single experiment and when data was taken from a single experiment, the linear model held up. The article later talked about supercoiling and my question is: does supercoiling have any effect on crossing over or linked genes?
