Effect of Personality Traits - Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Emotional Stability, and Openness to new Experiences on the Use of Social Media-

1- Openness to new Experiences- This is a trait wherein the emotional and adventurous aspects are considered important ones. The positive inclination towards artistic value and imagination reflects through this personality trait. People involved in the activities like singing, dancing, painting, movies, dramas, one act plays, mimes, forest tours, sky diving, scuba diving, river rafting a and rock climbing post different kind of information related to such activities. The number of friends on Facebook or members of such group increases quickly.

Example- Spread / sharing information regarding an event like a live concert, cultural program or a sports event.

2- Conscientiousness- It displays regulation of the actions through a framework. Self discipline is the key attribute here. Young people are more stuck and may even turn to be stubborn but the older people are with a flexibility. Therefore many times, there's a disturbance resulting from the difference in opinions on social media, specifically political motivation.

Example- Choosing either to post riot related information on social media.

3- Agreeableness- Affection, kindness and a wish to live with a harmony are the vital features of agreeableness. If the agreeableness is high, it helps to build relations on the social media platforms. These people appreciate each other. There is give and take to mechanism that leads to a win- win situation. On other hand if agreeableness is low, there will be manipulating, insulting and belittling others.

Example- Those who are with a low extent of agreeableness attempt to belittle others on social media using abusive language and differentiation on the basis of caste, creed, race.

4- Emotional stability- Being natural, obvious and not be pressurised/ stressed under any situation is the key attribute of this parameter. People who are high on the basis of stability are very comfortable and never worry. Whereas the others are anxious, with mood swings and stressed. People with a greater emotional stability indeed have an active and noteworthy social media usage as they are involved in posting and liking constructive facets only and never post and indulge in anything that may lead to anxiety and stress.

Example- Use of humour in the social media is a creative part. Many people tend to display a quality humour on social media. This reduces stress. Humour contributes to cultivate healthy relations on social media.
