The goal of ENTERPRISE SYSTEMS is to achieve operational excellence and customer intimacy. They are defined as systems which feature a set of integrated software modules and a central database that enables data to be shared by many different business processes and functional areas throughout an organization. Two common examples of enterprise systems are: Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Supply Chain Management (SCM). By doing a search of the web or other research methods, find an example of an organization that attempted to install an enterprise system (remember to post references). 1) What set of business issues was the organization trying to address? 2) How did they determine the business value of this project? Did it prove to be a prudent financial decision? 3) What product did they eventually decide to implement? 4) What major challenges did they face during the implementation and throughout the entire process? 5) What degree of success was achieved with this initiative? Did they achieve the stated objectives or did they come up short? 6) What was the impact on the business in terms of customer satisfaction and process improvement? 7) If you were in charge of this project, what recommendations or actions would you have taken to improve the outcome?

Answer-

i would choose the organization "accenture".

need for good customer relation with the organization.

2) How did they determine the business value of this project? Did it prove to be a prudent financial decision?

they determine the business value of this project because these enterprise stytem helped them to store, process & interpret the huge amount of data & convert them useful information which makes the functional departement or other business processes to make effective decision making.this project helps to create reports, finacial statement reports, maintain the database of customers etc.

yes this project would be prudent financial decision because it would be one time investment which would give long benefits to the company.

outrun the competitors

6) What was the impact on the business in terms of customer satisfaction and process improvement?

with the introduction of the enterprise system the company started to store the customer data & get thier feedback which in turn resulted better ideas for future products/services .this system also helped the company to solve thier queries with customer support services team via chat messages or telephonic calls.

the enterprise system also helped in improving function efficiency by sharing information from one department to another to make effective decisions like product launching, budgeting, marketing & promotion etc.

7) If you were in charge of this project, what recommendations or actions would you have taken to improve the outcome?

my recommendations would be-

choosing of system which is flexible means can be modified with time with minimum cost & does not require to change the whole system.

proper trainning of the system to key members using the system so that proper efficiency can be seen in the organization.

use of high security control measures on the database because system is linked to all departements so each departement should put thier own security controls.
