The carbon labelled intermediate reactions are shown above!

Description:

1).The glyceraldehyde 3 Phosphate and sedoheptulose 7 phosphate (Carbon labelled) reacts with help of enzyme transaldolase to from fructose 6 phosphate (Carbon labelled) and erythose 4 phosphate. This is non oxidative phase, where the reaction takes place at pentose phosphate pathway.

2).From Step 2 to Step 6 are the intermediate process. Where carbon labelled fructose 6 phosphate enter into glycolysis pathway (oxidative phase) and results in formation of pyruvate.

Do expect the cell to produce more ATP from one glucose molecule or from one fatty acid molecule? Explain your answer. Indicate whether the following statements are true or false. If a statement is false, explain why it is false The proteins of the electron-transport chain remove a pair of high-energy electrons from the cofactors, NADH and FADH_2, after which the electrons move across the inner mitochondrial membrane to maintain the voltage gradient. Question: You buy a sample of glucose that has the radioactive carbon-14 (C) isotope at the second position (Carbon #2). All other carbon positions in the glucose molecules have the "C isotope. "C is only a label and does not alter the biochemical behavior of the molecules in which it is found. This glucose sample is mixed with all the enzymes derived from liver cells, which initially contain no other C-labeled chemicals. A) Draw the Haworth structure of glucose and...

    1. (18 points) Consider the balanced gas phase combustion of dinitrotoluene, DNT (C7 HG(NO2)2): 2C7H6(NO2)2(g) + 3 O2(g) ---> 14 CO(g) +4 NH3(g). The products are carbon monoxide (CO) and ammonia (NH3). A gaseous mixture of DNT and O2(g) at 80°C is placed into a previously empty rigid container. When the above reaction goes to completion at 80°C, 0.15 atm of O2(g) is still present. The partial pressure of the NH3(g) produced is 1.00 atm. Assume all gases behave ideally....
