Part 1- Additional Resources Allowed The data set to be analyzed in this assignment was collected as part of the Stat 216 student projects during a previous semester A survey was conducted at the MSU Library and at Rendezvous Dining Hall. Students passing by were randomly given one of two Facebook status posts, then asked to answer the following questions: 1. How would you best describe the creator of this post: Trustworthy or Untrustworthy 2. What is your major? 3. Which best describes you: Introvert or Extrovert One of the two Facebook posts was created using an online generator utilizing good grammar techniques (noted as Good Grammar in the dataset). The post was written to be as neutral as possible, avoiding contentious or opinionated topics. That same post was then re-written using improper grammar (Bad Grammar). Of the many students asked to participate, 99 agreed to be part of the study. 1) [3 pts] As part of your project, you will need to collect data and enter it appropriately into a spreadsheet (using Google Sheets). As a reminder, data should be entered so that you have 1 row of column headers, then 1 additional row for each observational unit, with 1 column for each variable collected (you could include a column for identifying observational units but that is not required). What would the data set for this project look like? Number of columns (do not include an observational unit ID column in your count): Column headers: T Number of rows (including the header row): 2) [3 ptsal For this assignment, we will look at one research question: Are people more likely to be considered trustworthy if they use proper grammar techniques? To answer this research question, what two variables will be used? Identify the variables, then state the type (categorical/quantitative) and role (explanatory/response) for each variable.
3) Select one answer in each set of brackets to give the appropriate scope of inference for this study if these results are statistically significant we can say there is a Non a ca Causal Non - Causalrelationship between the explanatory and response variables for all MSU students i MSU students similar to the respondents [2 pts] Write the null and alternative hypothesis using proper notation. Be sure to explain what each subscript represents. Ho: 4) HA: In this context, what does π1-π2 represent? Select one. A. The difference in true proportion of people who saw the "Good Grammar" post between those who 5) B. The difference in sample proportion of people who saw the "Good Grammar" post between those C. The difference in sample proportion of people who considered the person trustworthy between those D.
