A.
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a digital
multi-carrier modulation scheme that extends the concept of single
subcarrier modulation by using multiple subcarriers within the same
single channel. Rather than transmit a high-rate stream of data
with a single subcarrier, OFDM makes use of a large number of
closely spaced orthogonal subcarriers that are transmitted in
parallel. Each subcarrier is modulated with a conventional digital
modulation scheme (such as QPSK, 16QAM, etc.) at low symbol rate.
However, the combination of many subcarriers enables data rates
similar to conventional single-carrier modulation schemes within
equivalent bandwidths.
The OFDM scheme differs from traditional FDM in the following
interrelated ways:
1. Multiple carriers (called subcarriers) carry the information stream,
2. The subcarriers are orthogonal to each other, and
3. A guard interval is added to each symbol to minimize the channel delay spread and intersymbol interference.
B.
Intersymbol interference (ISI) is a form of distortion of a signal
in which one symbol interferes with subsequent symbols.
OFDM is multicarrier data transmission modulation scheme. In
multipath data transmission ISI is introduces. Therefore, in
OFDM to separate the multisymbols guard bands are added. For
reduction of ISI Cyclic prefix (CP) are introduced. CP uses
C.
SC-FDMA, or single-carrier frequency-division multiple access the
users are allocted on both time and frequency domain where as in
OFDM it is only frequency domain.
for the uplink SC_FDMA will be used and for downlink FDMA due to
high peak to average power ratio.
D.
The speed with which data can be transmitted from one device to
another is called data transfer rate.
A prefix code is a type of code system (typically a variable-length
code) distinguished by its possession of the "prefix property",
which requires that there is no whole code word in the system that
is a prefix (initial segment) of any other code word in the
system.

5. Draw a graph showing what would happen to resting membrane potential over time, if the sodium/potassium pump were not functioning. How would this affect a neuron's ability to produce action potentials? What does this imply about the quantity of ions that normally cross the membrane during the course of an action potential? (Group D). Topic 2: Action potential conduction and synaptic transmission 6. How would you alter sodium and/or potassium...
Critical Thinking (10 points each) 1. Based upon what you know about the Kinetic Molecular Theory (KMT), how do you think increasing the temperature will affect the motions of gaseous particles? Why does changing the temperature affect the motion the way it does? 2. Using your knowledge of the KMT, explain gas behavior in the following scenario. A scented Yankee candle is lit and allowed to burn for a significant amount of time in the living room. Someone comes downstairs...
CHAPTER 6: CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM Case 6-2 LOCATION: Inpatient, Hospital PATIENT: Tim Luther ATTENDING/ADMIT PHYSICIAN: Frank Gaul, MD SURGEON: David Barton, MD PREOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: Fluid overload state, no urine output, acute renal failure. POSTOPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: Fluid overload state, no urine output, acute renal failure. PROCEDURE PERFORMED: Temporary dialysis catheter placement. The PID control architecture might be popular, but that does not mean it can be used for everything. This question explores when the PID controller is (in)sufficient: when it is too much, when it is "goldilocks", and when it is not enough. Consider a plant given by P'(s)-SaAs n increases, so does the order of the system. (sta)" Let's consider three orders and how PID controller design works for...

Background: TLG has explained to the GC owners that it is vital to understand the legal system and processes, including the court system and jurisdiction of the courts. This is especially important as GC plans to conduct business over the internet and thus, will have potential transactions throughout the U.S. and, possibly, globally. For an in initial meeting between GC owners and TLG, Winnie and Ralph asked you to present an overview of the law and the legal system. You...
