San Juan Sailboat Charters is an agent that leases sailboats. It does not own any sailboats; it leases boats on behalf of the owners who wish to earn income when they are not using their boats. The sailboats are in different the sizes of the boat and have different leasing rates. San Juan earns a fixed commission on the lease of any boat. Each sailboat is fully equipped with the equipments either provided by the boat owner or added by San Juan. There are fixed equipments such as radios, compasses, depth indicators, stoves, refrigerators etc.., and non-attached equipments such as sails, lines, anchors, dinghies, silverware, cooking utensils, bedding etc... San Juan also provides other supplies such as charts, tide and current map, dishtowel, toilet paper, and similar consumable items San Juan pays specific attention to keeping track of equipment on the boat. Much of it is expensive, especially non-attached equipment, can easily be lost or stolen. Customers are responsible for all equipment during the period of their charter. Therefore, San Juan would like to keep accurate records of its customers, charters, and obviously the boats and their various equipments Most of San Juan's business is bare-boat chartering, which means that no skipper or other crew is provided. But in some cases, at customers' requests San Juan would offer the service with an extra fee. In such case, it hires these personnel on a part-time/on call basis
