There may be the scenario when the state of the object does not change upon the occurrence of the event. Self transition is used to represent such situations.

Sometimes an object performs a function when it recognizes an event but it ends up in the same state.

It is represented by solid arrow pointing to itself.

In above figure:

1/6 is self transition to state 1

1/5 is self transition to state 2

5/8 is self transition to state 3
