The driving pulley is connected to the driven pulley by a single V-belt of angle 18 degrees and a unit weight of 2.18 N/m. The angle of wraps between the belt and pulley is approximately 175 degrees. The driven shaft is attached to a cylindrical pulley of 101 mm and runs at a speed of 1221 rpm.

Acceleration due to gravity g is exactly 9.81 m/s2.

If the initial belt tension is marginally adequate to prevent slippage and the coefficient of friction f is limited to 0.20, determine the maximum tension P1 that the belt can handle. Use 2 decimals; a variation of 5% is allowed for.
