According to your question, there are three problems I can think of:

1) Problem of maintaining a constant employee happiness index

2) problem with Market expansion

3) Problem with hiring new resources who follow same idealogy and work ethics.

Explanation:

1- First things he needs to make sure is that, existing employees loyal to company, are happy with the work culture and are able to maintain proper work/life balance. Also make sure, they belivbe in idea for which company is working.

2- First he needs to analyze potential markets for expansion without investing too much resources. Then only he should invest in expansion with help of proper guidance(problem3).

3- Its really hard to find people who belive in same ideology and cause(for which your company is working). One thing that can be done is, identify key characteristics that you want from a potential employee and make them your priority during hiring process.
