(1) the color of the solution ( [Co(H2O)6]2+ )changes from reddish pink to blue ( [CoCl4]2- ) .

[Co(H2O)6]2+(aq)  + 4Cl-(aq) \leftrightharpoons [CoCl4]2- (aq) + 6H2O(l)

According to LeChalier principle , when an equilibrium is disturbed from equilibrium position, equilibrium will shift in the direction to minimise the change causes the disturbance. On adding conc.HCl, concentration of Cl- increases , equilibrium will shift in forward direction to consume the added chloride ions.

[Co(H2O)6]2+ -decrease,,[Cl-] -deceases,,[CoCl4]2- -increase
