Phosphatases are a family of enzymes that remove phosphate groups from specific proteins; these phosphate groups had been added to the proteins by protein kinases. B) The response of the cell would last longer than it normally would.

As Vandate is an inhibitor of phospahtases in eukaryotic cells, it would inhibit the the removal of phosphate group from specific proteins. Therefore the response of the cells received by receptor kinases would last longer than it normally would.
