Answer #1

Conjugated polymers are organic macro molecules that are characterised by a backbone chain of alternating double- and single-bonds. Their overlapping p-orbitals create a system of delocalised π-electrons, which can result in interesting and useful optical and electronic properties.

The electronic structure was reported previously with direct band gaps of 2.34 eV (LDA),2.40 eV (PW91), 2.48 eV (PW91),3.2 eV (HSE06) and 3.91 eV (B3LYP).
