Caudes of global water crisis are as follows:

A) Physical: Global climate changes has increased the frequency of draughts. It has also increased frequency of floods , which also not a good thing, as although water is there but it is of no use.

B) Socioeconomic

1. Water pollution

2. Increased stress on water resources due to increased population.

3. Urbanisation and industrialization.

4. Waste water

Discussion on socioeconomic causes:

Global population has been continuously decreasing since last few decades. This increasing population has also led to increase in urbanization, industrialuzation and agriculture. Increase in all these activities has also increased pressure over existing water resources. To cope up with the water scarcity in draught prone areas, people started to use groundwater unsustainable. This decreased the groundwater table and water pollution also affected the groundwater quality. All these things further increased the water quality. Thus, ever increasing population and unsustainable use of groundwater are the root causes of water crisis.

Current status of it is that population is increasing continuously and water crisis is becoming more and more prominent. It has become so big issue that there are talks of third world water will be fought for the water.

Possible steps to deal with it are listed below:

1. Educating the people about sustainable usage of water and creating awareness amongst the masses.

2. Reduce, Recycle and reuse of water: Reducing the usage of water and avoiding it's wastage. Recycling the waste water so that it can be reused.

3. Use of technology and innovation for water conservation: using advanced technology for different ways of water conservation. Using innovative ways like watershed management for water conservation.

4. Improving water usage in agriculture. Moving away from water intensive agricultural crops in water scarcer areas. Creating awareness among the farmers for it.

5. Stopping water pollution. Avoiding waste to go into water bodies.
