- Electronic health records are digital version of patient records that are instantly and securely available to authorities. The two EHRs widely used are EpicSystems EHR and Healthkit EHR. They are used by Cleaveland clinic and Mayoclinic. The pros of these two systems is that they are fast, robust and easy to executive.The cons include lack of updating information and meditation errors.

- Technologies needed to facilitate the EHR include

- building

- security softwares

- data encryption

-cloud computing

Implementing EHR using phases of system development life cycle include -

- a coceptual mode

- project management

Phases are

- System physical construction (hardware, software, broadband access, communications, security issues)

- Implementation of the project activities and the associated tasks, from vendor selection to Go Live

-Use of the system, including managing the transition
