Answer #1

Answer: The nonpolar solvent are mainly used for the selectively extract fat from a sample vienna sausage.

Explanation: Lipids are all insoluble in polar solvents like water but highly soluble in the non-polar or weakly polar organic solvents, including ether, chloroform, benzene, and acetone. In fact, these four solvents are often referred to as "lipid-solvents" or "fat-solvents"

In the case of extraction one polar and one nonpolar solvent used in such case the fat present in the vienna sausage is well extracted in to nonpolar solvent due to its high solubility. After extraction polar phase seperated out. Fat will obtain after the removal of nonpolar solvent by evaporation.
