Ans. 12: Given, corn silage in Ration B = 35% dry matter.

Dry matter feed of Ration B = Corn silage + Alfalfa Timothy Hay + Salt = 40 + 11 + 0.15 = 51.15 lbs

Since the total feed is 51.15 lbs dry matter weight out of which 35% dry matter is corn sillage, we have Corn Sillage = 17.90 lbs

Assuming salt is same, i.e. 0.15 lbs of the total weight, dry matter weight of Alfalfa Timothy Hay is = (51.15) - (17.90 + 0.15) = 33.097lbs

Out of which 90% is dry matter, which gives net weight of Hay = 90% of 33.097 = 29.79lbs
