Use the Quantiles table in [4] to answer the following questions.

[5] Twenty-five percent of the receipt totals exceeded what total?

[6] Ninety percent of the receipt totals are less than what total?

[7] What percent of the receipts have totals between $14.19 and $34.04?

Answer #1

1. Steps : graph, histogram, boxplot. Histogram of Receipt total 18 16 12 5 C10 2 urrent Worksheet: WorBoxplot of Receipt total 70 60 Outlier symbol, Row 48 Receipt total 1 63.3 50 0 40 30 20 10

2. Shape and skewness : tge distribution is positively skewed as the horizontal line in the boxplot lies in the lower part of the box.

3. If we move the cursor on the outlier value in the boxplot, it'll guve us the exact value as shown above. The data has 3 outliers which are : 63.85, 64.30, 69.49

4.Descriptive Statistics: Receipt total5. Twenty-five percent of the receipt totals exceeded 13.72 total

6. As (50*90)/100=45 and 45th value is 45.58 so Ninety percent of the receipt totals are less than 45.58

7. 26 values are between $14.19 and $34.04 so 52% of the values lie between these limits.

8. Steps : stat, basic statistics, display descriptive statistics. Descriptive Statistics: Receipt total N for Mean Median Mode Mode Variable Receipt total 25.94 20.739. Descriptive Statistics: Receipt total StDev Variance Range 260.9367.17 Variable Receipt total 16.15 210.
