Answer #1

Solution :-

#5) Mass of saturated potassium chloride solution

Mass of solution = (mass of + solution) – mass of dish

                               = 44.04 g – 39.78 g

                                = 4.26 g

#6) mass of potassium chloride in the solution

Mass of potassium chloride = (mass of dish 2nd heating) – (mass of empty dish)

                                                 = 40.78 g – 39.78 g

                                                  = 1.00 g

#7) mass of water = mass of solution – mass of potassium chloride

                                 = 4.26 g – 1.00 g

                                 = 3.26 g

#8)mass % of potassium chloride in the saturated solution = [mass of KCl / mass of solution]*100%

                                                                                                         =[1.00 g / 4.26 g]*100%

                                                                                                         = 23.5 %

#9) grams of KCl per 100 g of water

1.00 g KCl * 100 g H2O / 3.26 g H2O = 30.67 g KCl

So it is 30.67 g potassium chloride per 100 g water.

#10) in the theoretical table of solubility of salt per 100 g water at 20 C

The KCl theoretical mass per 100g water is about 35.0 g KCl

Saturated, Unsaturated & Supersaturated Solutions Solution, in which the concentration of solute is that determined by its solubility (at given temperature) is called SATURATED solution. One cannot add more solute to such a solution. We also say that a saturated solution is in equilibrium with pure solute: If we add solid Nacl to an already saturated solution of NaCl, that solid remains in equilibrium with dissolved Naci. Solution containing less solute than would be in the saturated solution, is UNSATURATED...
