D. Calculate Vout by hand when there is no load resistance (Rload = infinity) and again

with Rload = 5K. The output resistance can be calculated by finding the difference

between Vsource and Vout when a load is present and dividing the voltage drop by the

current flowing out of the terminal. Note that if Rload = Rout then Vout will be exactly

half of Vsource

1) Thevenin and Norton Sources: Thevenin and Norton Sources are single-port models that allow us to analyze how a signal generator will behave if we hook it up to a circuit. Thevenin and Norton sources are interchangeable. Each consists of an independent source and a source resistance. This source resistance helps model how the output voltage is affected by attaching another circuit to the Thevenin or Norton source.
