Scenario D. A researcher is interested in comparing different treatments for anxiety. She assigns participants to one of three groups. Group one will take a new anti-anxiety mediation, Group two will participate in cognitive behavioral therapy for three weeks with Dr. White, and group three will participate in group therapy with Dr. Mark for one week. She finds that those who do the cognitive behavioral therapy have less anxiety than the other two groups at the end of the study.
