A 5 ml aliquot of this solution was analysed in a gamma counter and provided a count rate of 3050cpm. A 5ml sample of the patient's blood provided a count rate of1660 cpm. Answer #1

The volume of patient blood is inversely proportional to the cpm activity.

Volume of Patient Blood3050 Volume of solutioin 1660

3050 Patient Blood Volume= (3000 ml) 1660 5512 ml

Hence the patient's blood volume will be equal to 5512 ml
