Ans: UCSC Genome Browser- The University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) genome browser is an online web-based tool that allows access to portion of genome sequence data from a variety of organisms that gives an annotated aligned results. The annotated sequence shows mRNA and expressed sequence tags, prediction of genes, polymorphism of nucleotides, regulatory data, expression data, variation and phenotype data and comparative datas. The browser is user friendly and supports fast interactive work where datas can not only be viewed but is also downloadable and annotation tracks can be customised and also can be manipulated using another web-based applications.
SA TOOLS- SAM (Sequence Alignment/Map). It is a generic format that allows storing of large nucleotide sequence alignments. It is flexible and can store all the information of aligned sequences generated by different alignment programs. It is simple and easily convertible and provides a compact file size. SAM TOOLS provides utilities such as indexing and generating alignments in SAM, BAM and CRAM formats , sorting and merging.
